# Market Makers

Market makers set budgets, target grades, and a discount percentage. Every collector who looks up a matching card sees a standing offer they can accept instantly. No listing, no negotiation, no waiting.

### For Buyers (Market Makers)

Market making is currently **invite-only**. Email <pat@graded.world> to request access.

1. **Create a buy order** — Pick categories (Pokémon, Sports, One Piece, etc.), graders (PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC), minimum grade, and FMV range.
2. **Set your offer percentage** — Choose what % of fair market value you’ll pay (e.g. 80% of FMV).
3. **Set a daily budget** — Caps your daily spend. Resets at midnight UTC automatically.
4. **Cards match automatically** — When any user looks up a card that fits your filters, your offer appears on their screen.
5. **Seller ships → we verify → you get the card** — Card goes to Graded HQ. We confirm cert, grade, and condition. If anything’s off, the deal is cancelled. Zero risk.

### For Sellers

You don’t need to list anything. Offers appear automatically when you look up or add a card.

1. **Look up any card** — Search by cert number or scan the barcode on your slab. The app pulls grade, FMV, and price history automatically.
2. **See instant offers** — If a market maker wants your card, the highest offer shows on the card page with the exact dollar amount.
3. **Accept & ship** — Ship the slab to Graded HQ. Pending funds show on your profile while the card is in transit.
4. **Get paid** — Payment within 48 hours of verification.

You don’t need to own the card in your Graded portfolio or have it on-chain. The physical slab is proof of ownership. If you have it, you can sell it.

### Escrow

Every transaction is escrowed. Buyer funds lock when the seller accepts. Graded verifies the card before releasing payment.

* **Offer accepted** — Funds lock, buyer’s budget draws down
* **Card shipped** — Seller ships to Graded HQ
* **Verification** — Team confirms cert, grade, condition
* **Payout** — Seller paid within 48 hours
* **Delivery** — Card ships to buyer or gets vaulted

If a card fails verification, the deal is cancelled. Buyer isn’t charged. Card returns to seller.

### Fair Market Value

FMV is calculated from real sold comps — eBay and Fanatics auction data, updated daily. Not estimates, not price guides. Actual transactions.
